STEP 1: The first step is to give a notice of marriage to the marriage officer. The couple needs to submit the notice to the marriage officer.

STEP 2: Marriage Officer records the notice and sends a copy of it to the Marriage Officer of the District.

STEP 3: There is a period of 30 days is given for any person to raise any objections to the intended marriage.

STEP 4: From the date of receipt of any objections, the Marriage Officer should inquire into it within 30 days.

STEP 5: If the objections are found valid, the intended marriage may appeal to the District Court, whose decision shall be binding.
